About Haveli

The Haveli ‘Phul Niwas’ is a heritage class mansion, over 100 years old, built on over 20, 000 sq. ft. of Ajmer’s most expensive prime land, in the heart of the city. Built in the traditional Rajasthani style, with large open court yards, and gardens, the Haveli is unique in its sophistication, yet completely homely and serene. An ambience and atmosphere of homely comfort and peace pervades the entire Haveli.

History:

The Haveli has a historical significance of its own. During the erstwhile British rule, before independence, the Haveli was the headquarters of the Indian National Congress of Ajmer-Merwara. Ergo, it has been the mute spectator to many eminent freedom fighters and personalities like the Father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, Abdul Kalaam Azad, the sarhad Gandhi- Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan, first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and many others. It was here that they stayed and deliberated on their moves for freedom struggle.
